Gotta love New York legalization! Cannabis use will be permitted wherever tobacco use is allowed on the New York State Fairgrounds this year. The announcement came from to the fair’s public relations manager Monday, reports Spectrum News.
It’s “one of the many firsts” coming this year for the State Fair, which returns this week.
Don’t fire up any weed indoors or at Chevy Court and Chevy Park. But you can light that shit up anywhere else that’s outdoors and where tobacco smoking is permitted.
The fair does officially encourage those who smoke marijuana to at least be considerate those around them.
Jackyl To Perform August 24
Hard-rockin’ Georgia outfit Jackyl will perform at the 2021 Fair at 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, on the Chevy Court stage. They will replace Dire Straits Legacy, which had to cancel its show “due to issues involving international travel.”
Jackyl’s brand of Southern-style rock comes complete with lead singer Jesse James Dupree’s trademark chainsaw solo on “The Lumberjack.” If you watched much “Headbanger’s Ball” back in the day on MTV, you’ll be sure to remember this one.
“Jackyl was great when they were here in 2019 and I know this will be a fun and exciting show,” said Fair Director Troy Warner. “We thank them for being willing to step in. We’re sorry to lose Dire Straits Legacy but will keep an eye out for them in the future.”
All shows in the Chevrolet Music Festival are free with $3 admission to the Fair.
The State Fair starts this Friday, August 20. We here at the Leaf predict it’ll break all records for munchies sales.
