We’re back from another year in Barcelona for the Spanish competition scene, and now we can tell you all the big winners from the 2025 season.
It’s safe to say Banana flavors scored big this year, taking seven different awards across melt, flower and rosin. Z continued its Godzilla-like path of destruction, scoring four spots in the competition’s top 3 and an additional 20 or more places on the podium with Z crosses. This reporter’s favorite flavor this year is tied between the OGZ (Zkittlez x OG Kush) rosin from Happy Hash Cat and Mendoja Farms (a gold medal winner at Ego Clash), and the gassy Bask Triangle rosin released by Doc Hazed, which features the Bask Triangle Farms’ Bazkittlez (Zkittlez x Banana Zkittlez No. 5) and took gold at Spannabis Champions Cup.
The European crowd had enormous success this year. Barcelona’s living soil masters, Neighbors, took the winning spot at the High Secret Cup with another of my favorites, their delicious Tropaya BX flower. Slite23’s Guava Zkittlez won 3rd at the Spannabis Champions Cup and 1st place at the prestigious Masters Of Rosin. We Flowers, along with We Xtracts, put a few spins on Z to land multiple places on the podium, including 1st in Rosin at the all-female judged Mother Cup competition. La Chanvrière also brought the static sift version of the SunsetZ, which was one of the top flowers at Ego Clash 2024. Stickybuds, who took 1st in Indica Flower at SCC last year came back with a traditional hash rendition of their Highribo that scored 1st at The Organic Cup. Plus, Greenmaze Farm, together with Herbey’s social club, won 1st in Rosin and Melt at the Organic Cup, along with 3rd in Rosin at the Mother Cup with their Z varieties.
American competitors found European success with their hits as well. The Real Cannabis Chris brought the Guapa Empanada de Piña and Guapa Pie entries to continue his streak with 1st in Ice Water Hash, 2nd in Rosin at Full Moon Sesh, and 3rd in Rosin at The Organic Cup. The Baked Taters’ Death By Boof full melt (Death Star x Super Boof) took home 2nd at Ego Clash and Full Moon Sesh. Super Boof had a few other wins this year, including 1st and 3rd in Rosin at the High Secret Cup. Colorado’s Ice Cream Man Melts brought home 2nd place for Banana Zplit at the High Secret Cup, and the infamous Real Deal Resin boys won 2nd at Mother’s Cup for Lemon OGZ rosin.
