Shop Review: Hi Tide Dispensary

Hi Tide perfectly captures that feeling of bliss you get when you go to the beach for a vacation.

Although the summer is over, Hi Tide Dispensary continues to provide an elite dispensary experience in Ocean City. The first thing that strikes customers as they approach the store is the sheer size of the building. Every single inch of this dispensary has been meticulously thought out, from the “Scooby-Doo” and “Jaws” pinball machines to the signed vintage surfboards. Hi Tide is also equipped to handle a massive volume of customers, and the huge staff makes it possible for every one of them to get the attention they deserve. Be sure to stop at Hi Tide when you’re in Ocean City, and catch a vibe before you catch some waves!

Setting and Vibe

Hi Tide perfectly captures that feeling of bliss you get when you go to the beach for a vacation. They have beach-themed swag reminiscent of strolling through Sunsations, which aids in getting customers into that carefree mindset. The staff is extremely well educated on Maryland’s product selection, which is of high importance for customers who are new to the industry. There is a ton of comfortable lounge seating available, should the store get super packed with stoners prepping for a beach day. They even have a custom VW bus that was on the Grateful Dead tour in its previous life.

Flower

We have seen some pretty impressive numbers when it comes to flower variety, but Hi Tide came in strong with over 200 strains available during our visit. We’ve come a long way from grabbing whatever our dude had available back in the days before legal Cannabis existed. There isn’t a single grower in Maryland that they didn’t have on the menu, making it easy to stay loyal to that brand you always keep in your stash. THC and terpene chasers both have a ton of variety to choose from, making this a one-stop shop for anyone visiting the shore.

Concentrates

One unique aspect of Hi Tide’s menu is the “Patient’s Favorites” section, which gives you a better idea of the products that people are really enjoying right now. They also have a plug-in on their website called Terpli that lets you input your product category, how you’d like to feel, potency and price range to generate recommendations for concentrates and anything else you can find on the menu. I was excited to see a ton of solventless options in addition to tons of terpy hydrocarbon extracts.

Edibles

Browsing the edible menu at Hi Tide felt like looking at the Candy Kitchen menu. From the wide range of edible types to the variety of flavors, you’ve got options that never seem to end. The menu includes not only chocolates, gummies, tinctures, candy and taffy, but it also features RSO capsules, various tablets and the newest offerings available in Maryland. My go-to at the beach is Betty’s Eddies, and they had 11 different flavors/potencies during our visit.

Sunmed Growers Peach Crescendo
These buds were loaded with deep hues and coated in trichomes, giving them a strong bag appeal as soon as you open the jar. A cross between Mandarin Cookies and Peach Rings creates a really peachy, tropical blend of aromas and flavors. A sweet, fruity, peach-dominant flavor profile is accompanied by notes of gas and chem. I found this strain perfect for a lazy day on the beach or hanging around the house, as it has a strong couch-lock effect paired with an elevated feeling in the mind.
