Tacoma brand K.Savage Supply Co. sent us home with two scrumptious samples of solventless. In fact, the terpenes dragging us into each jar were so tempting that we had a hard time choosing one.
If the aroma doesn’t pull you in, perhaps knowing that part of your purchase goes to Last Prisoner Project will. K.Savage Supply Co. is a “proud supporter” of the organization, stating on its website that it has donated over $46,000 as of November 2024 “to help with legal intervention, re-entry programs and enact policy change.”
Popping open the origami-esque package on the first flavor — Swiss Watch, a cross of Gary Payton and Runtz — reveals a simple, double-sealed jar. The rosin is smooth and supple, scooping without crumble, and just juicy enough to provide perfect texture.
It’s tart and spicy at the same time — both scents volley between nostrils and fight for attention. As more sour seeps out, it takes over, leaning into a citrus-rind feel with a finish that quickly fades to fuel. Runtz is driving this ride, with its tart, candy fumes and sweet finish. But there are mysterious undertones that offer something more complex and likely lean on the Gary Payton lineage.
The second jar offers a bewitching take on Blue Note. This cultivar is a cross of Kush Mints and Wedding Crasher, and the profile is entirely propelled by petrol. It has a slightly tackier texture that is closer to crumbly, but by no means dry.
At first sniff, you might catch a sprinkle of sweetness, but stick your nose a little deeper, and you’ll be surprised by the complexity. It’s earthy and dank, similar to wet cedar. But it all bounces back to a pungent pop of rubber and gas — like a pit stop among the pines.
Both dabs go down with all the smoothness you’d expect from indoor-operating, pesticide-free, calculated cultivators like the crew at K.Savage Supply Co.
