Verano has captured this month’s concentrate selection with their Flying Dutchman BHO Live Sugar. This sweet and floral dab is a connoisseur’s delight, with a range of aromas that aren’t typical in the market, captured with the care that Verano’s extractors are known for. The dab itself is a wonderful sugared consistency with just the right ratio of viscous oil to crystallized lumps, making handling and enjoying the product a breeze. The Verano extraction team are true professionals, and it shows in the globs they bring us day in and day out. The subtleties of texture, consistency and viscosity are credited to the magic of extraction, and it is always a delight to find a dab that’s made by true wizards.
This is an interesting bouquet that for sure has a citrus top note, but is underscored with nuanced florals that I find to be rarer in the market. Typically, with modern Cannabis, we notice a lot of fuel notes in popular strains, be it gas, kerosene, lighter fluid or glue. Pure floral scents are difficult to find, and florals with minimal fuel notes are even harder. The Verano Flying Dutchman is one such rarity that has delicious citrus overtones and hydrangea, chamomile and spice undertones that are not drowned out by even the slightest dollop of fuel in the mix. Such aromas are sought after in all markets, and I personally look out for them as often as I can find them.
The flavor of the dab is a bit on the spicy side, but the citrus fruit comes back to the palate on the exhale, really rounding out each dab for the consumer. With its caryophyllene-, myrcene- and limonene-dominant profile, it functions as a classic, smoothly mellow indica effect that may slow a person down without couch locking them. It is a heavier dab that may help with the pain, sleep and anxiety effectively and substantially. Verano’s Flying Dutchman Live Sugar is a wonderful summer dab, full of nuanced flavors and potent effects.
