Rambutan

from North Fork Cannabis Collective

This is definitely an active, thought-provoking strain, which is further complemented by its taste.

Long Island’s North Fork Cannabis Collective has consistently shown that organic and innovative practices yield great products — the Rambutan rosin is no exception.

My first step, as with any good sample I receive, is to photograph it at various magnifications and log it. This process involves focus stacking a series of photographs to achieve a final, full-resolution image. At high magnifications, one can see just how clean a concentrate can be, and from these photos, you can tell you’re working with something special.

Bred by Bloom Seed Co., Rambutan F2 — (Papaya x Guava’z) x (Papaya x Guava’z) — was explored through an in-house pheno hunt and produced as a mixed wash from 24 plants, allowing different expressions of sweet bubblegum and dank, funky fruit to combine. The plants were flowered for 70 days in living soil and then harvested fresh frozen to maintain terpene integrity. North Fork’s Shannon N. Wright had the honor of hand-washing the Rambutan that was then pressed and packaged for our immediate enjoyment.

The rosin, pulled in the 73-59u range, presents light in color with a soft, buddery consistency that suggests careful handling as well as successful pheno hunting and optimal temperature control. On the nose, it is unforgettable, opening with sharp, tropical and tangy notes of fermented fruit with an underlying funk that takes you back a step.

The high is immediately delightful, delivering an immediate sense of euphoria that effectively relaxes and elevates simultaneously. This is definitely an active, thought-provoking strain, which is further complemented by its taste. The complex flavor and buddery consistency of the rosin also make for a fantastic hash hole.

This super-limited release of Rambutan rosin highlights North Fork’s focus on small-batch, pheno-driven products, giving us a glimpse into their vast and still-expanding potential as they hunt and develop their hash menu.
