New kid on the block, Maryland Herb Co., has come out with the heavy-hitting Big Apple cultivar for the flower of the month, and boy, does it help them make an impression on Maryland.
As many of you know, the state is starting up a round of social equity licenses. Maryland Herb Co. is the first social equity standard grower, as well as one of the first new brands to hit the market in years. While the company has been making waves and getting noticed for a couple of recent flavors, the Big Apple is truly one of the standouts in its portfolio. Excellent bud structure, beautiful coloration and sparkling trichomes are the hallmarks of its appearance, but its delicate note of Red Delicious apples, baptized in kerosene, really makes the cultivar stand out.
For those of you looking for a heavier varietal, the Big Apple by Maryland Herb Co. hits a sweet spot of sedative succulence with its deeply mellow caryophyllene, myrcene and linalool profile. This classic mix of terpenes is an excellent daily driver for the high-toleranced, speedy-minded, pain-ridden folks who appreciate an indica effect with a potent slow down. The caryophyllene and myrcene combination hit me behind the eyes and brought the world to a snail’s pace, which I found particularly wholesome after a long day or an overly social occasion.
The team at Maryland Herb Co. is sure to continue building an amazing portfolio of cultivars that will help carve out their piece of the market; Big Apple is evidence of that. The effervescent apple notes combined with the heady and heavy high are a testament to the grow team pumping their heart and soul into the plants. I can not wait to see the company help take our state to a new level of product diversity and quality.
