For this month’s Adventure Issue, it only makes sense to spotlight a strain that comes with a warning label. Introducing Offensive OG from Cupcakes Cannabis in Maine: This indica-dominant heavy-hitting strain was bred by in-house cultivator Flowers by Chez. Designed for the seasoned smoker, Offensive OG is a daring, THC-rich cross between Meat Breath and Tahoe OG that is NSFW. 

The strain originated in 2017 when Flowers by Chez crossed a Tahoe OG (Cali Connection) female that he pheno-hunted with a Meatbreath (Thug Pug) male. The results have been in rotation ever since. The plant is a dream to grow and as “Cupcake” himself explains, “She’s a very vigorous, tall growing plant. She’s more sativa-leaning in her structure, and as a grower, you just love how easy it is to clone and grow. (It) stacks very fast and she yields heavy too.” 

With packaging that boldly features “explicit content” warnings, Offensive OG is as explicit in its delivery of potent effects with a uniquely delicious terp mix. Sneaking a toke of this strain gives you a strong meaty OG profile on the front end that smooths out on the backend with earthy, pine and fuel notes from the Tahoe OG. The high starts with a subtle but cerebral head high that never gets too racy or speedy. As things settle in, an indica-style body high becomes evident. While clearly powerful, the strain surprisingly doesn’t completely lock you to the couch. It is a versatile strain that I enjoyed with friends at a concert, enhancing the music, mood, vibes, and a night in which I crushed some takeout and a movie.
