Shop Review: Caroline’s Cannabis

You can really tell how much of herself she puts into the store’s experience.

The journey today has taken us to Hopedale, Massachusetts, into a Cannabis-friendly realm created by the eponymous Caroline of Caroline’s Cannabis. Even from the parking lot, you can appreciate the elegance of the premises, which gives a feeling of spa-meets-cabin-at-the-lake. Upon entering, I was greeted by Brooke, with a warm smile and such amiability that I immediately felt at peace and relaxed. It was an appropriate start, as they leaned into the kindness tone, embracing the “be kind” artwork by the main entrance.

Remember the first time you walked into a dispensary? When was the last time you felt like that? I remember the awe and wonder — being excited by so many things I love under one roof, all within a safe place to acquire them. As soon as I stepped over the threshold and into the main floor, I felt that same rush of excitement. In front of me was a display room with space dedicated to an array of brands, partners, merch and glass. It felt like a well-thought-out display, carefully coordinating a sophisticated and inspired atmosphere.

The space is teeming with vibrancy, with art, pictures and music woven throughout. Toward the middle of this extended space is the dispensary counter, and across from it, a wall piano with rotating seasonal decor. They even kept part of the space dedicated to musical instruments like drums, guitars, a Spanish cajón, and memoirs with artists who have attended their gatherings, such as the legendary Snoop Dogg.

Staff

Caroline is an empowered entrepreneur who loves the plant. When sourcing, she personally selects the buds you get to ensure you have the same experience she does. You can appreciate her dedication, passion, and commitment to providing a great experience for her customers. A good reputation is important to her, as she is working hard to take her in-house brand around Massachusetts and hopes to expand nationally someday. You can really tell how much of herself she puts into the store’s experience.

Shoutout to Mel, the assistant regional manager, for the awesome terp talk! Thanks also to Josh, who introduced me to how the menu works and what the customer journey is like for the patrons of their store.

The menu is one of the most extensive menus I have ever seen in a dispensary. Three separate boards display the edibles section by type and brands, and they carry everything from chocolates to ice cream. The pre-roll offerings alone required two full menu boards before getting into general flower, vapes and concentrates. Towering over the counter is a wall-sized board featuring every strain they offer by the eighth, separated into sativa, indica or hybrid, and organized by prices for every budget.

If you’re looking for a wide selection of options in a pleasant, welcoming setting, Caroline’s Cannabis may be the spot for you. I’m looking forward to going back and diving into even more of Caroline’s selections.
