Shop Review: Happi Daze Dispensary

Visually, this store looks like a 1950s diner from the outside with a modernized retro-diner interior.

As you approach Happi Daze, a sign by the highway indicates that this is the last stop for legal Cannabis on the East Coast. Given their location in Princess Anne, Maryland, this is actually the last place you can buy Cannabis on the East Coast until you get to Florida. Visually, this store looks like a 1950s diner from the outside with a modernized retro-diner interior. Whether you’ve been in one of these diners yourself or seen them in a movie, a feeling of familiarity is shared between the patients and customers. Owner Sharon Davis and the general manager, Chris Weimer, run a family operation, creating another great addition to the dispensaries on the Eastern Shore.

Setting and Vibe

Every detail of this store’s layout feels as if it is meant to evoke a different feeling or memory in the customers. Neon signs, retro diner booths, jukeboxes from the ‘50s and ‘70s, and even down to the uniquely shaped windows are just a few thoughtful design elements. If on-site consumption were to get approved for Maryland dispensaries in the future, the vibe in this store is perfect for a smoke session. They have kiosks for quick ordering and passionate, dedicated employees who can guide people through the process of exploring Cannabis.

Flower

Ounces and 15-gram bags from Just Flower, half ounces and 10-gram bags of SunMed Growers, quarters and 5-gram jars from Curio Wellness and, of course, eighths from Maryland’s best can all be found on the menu regularly. The menu is deep and full of options rich in both terpenes and cannabinoids. Wagyu A5 flower from Maryland Herb Co., Tropicanna Gushers from Fade Co. and Uva Bon Bon from Strane were the three strains that caught my attention.

Concentrates

Dabs on the Eastern Shore are one of the most relaxing things you can do, so stocking up before you hit the beach is a must. The selection was heavy in live resins from District Cannabis, Exotic Elevations and Kings & Queens. In addition to loose concentrates, they had terp sap applicators, which are the perfect option for getting an inconspicuously large dose of THC in a small package.

Edible

Lately, I’ve been packing my beach cooler with Sunnies House Mocktails and sodas from Keef Brands instead of alcohol, and the vibe it brings to the beach is undoubtedly higher. This menu has those beverages and more, plus every gummy or chocolate you can imagine floating around. Edibles can be a great introduction to Cannabis for people who don’t want to smoke; just remember, you can always eat more, but you can’t go back and eat less.

Some things just go together, and the legendary Northern California breeders Humboldt Seed Company brought this pairing to life. The players in the game here are Purple Cartel from Xotic Flavorz with Jelly Donutz from Humboldt Seed Company. Green Thumb Industries brings it to Maryland with their Good Green brand, unleashing a bakery aroma with hints of sweet and citrusy candy. The nugs are frosty with purple hues underneath, truly a beautiful expression of the Cannabis plant.
