Sunday Drive is a woman-owned and -operated adult-use Cannabis dispensary that is a testament to the dedication and advocacy of its owner, PJ. In 2019, PJ joined the Vermont Cannabis Control Board, and this involvement was instrumental in educating the residents of Woodstock about Cannabis, its potential benefits, and the implications of allowing adult use of Cannabis in their community. Her efforts aimed at ensuring that the community understood the nuances of these laws and the potential impact of a dispensary in their locality. The opening of Sunday Drive in November of 2022 culminated these efforts, marking a significant milestone in the acceptance and understanding of Cannabis use in Woodstock. The store now stands as a beacon of empowerment and education, offering a wide range of products and serving as a resource for those seeking to learn more about Cannabis.

The Initial Journey

I just crossed the border from New Hampshire into Vermont, and I feel a sense of ease go over me. The air is fresh and the trees bright green. After a little bit of time goes by, I see my destination in sight: Sunday Drive. I pull in and make my way up the stairs and through the door. As I enter, I’m greeted by one of the wonderful team members and shown around the shop. I let my eyes wonder for a moment, overtaken by the vibrant colors and vast array of beautifully displayed products.

Selection is Key

As I walk around the store, I feel like a kid exploring a candy store. Whatever your canna needs are, Sunday Drive is here to help, from the immense rolling paper assortment and eye-catching glass to a range of edibles, concentrates and, of course, flower.

The sniffer flower displays are a serious game changer – nothing beats seeing and smelling the available flower. The vast selection includes flower from growers such as Birdman (@birdmanvermont), Turkey Hollow Cannabis (@turkeyhollowcannabis), Rebel Grown (@rebel_grown_vt), Bushy Beard Cultivation (@bushy_beard_cultivation) and Pinnacle Valley Farms (@pinnaclevalleyfarms802). I had the pleasure of sampling all of these and have been back for more since my original visit.

Indulging in the Vibe

Sunday Drive would not be Sunday Drive if it weren’t for the enthusiastic staff! Everyone fully enjoys what they are doing and who they are working with, regardless of being the greeter at the door, the inventory manager or a budtender. That, in my opinion, is one of the best parts of this industry and why I do what I do: to be with like-minded people. I had some great conversations about edibles, eating too many and laughing, as the staff helped me pick the flower I was choosing to sample.

Will be Back for More

As I pull out of the parking lot and head down Route 4 toward Quechee and home, I reflect on my great time at Sunday Drive. It’s really nice to go to a place and have an experience like I did. It also isn’t bad leaving with a nice collection of VT offerings!

If you are heading to the area and going to be in the Woodstock area, I highly recommend stopping by Sunday Drive. I’ll certainly be making a trip back there soon!
