Opened in 2020, Seaweed Co. is one of the first recreational dispensaries in Portland, Maine – offering high quality Cannabis, decadent edibles and a vast assortment of concentrates.

Maine’s Finest

Located in the greater Portland area of Maine, Seaweed Co. is conveniently close to the Maine Mall and other well-known Portland spots. Arriving at their Running Hill Road address, I was welcomed by the striking appearance of the store – featuring natural wood siding and smooth lines that echo classic New England architecture. These carefully curated vibes continue upon entering the store, where you’ll find a bright, open-concept design showcasing a selection of thoughtfully chosen products displayed on locally crafted, Maine-made wooden shelving.

Highly Educated

Passionate, knowledgeable and friendly … three words that undoubtedly describe the fine folks that comprise the staff at Seaweed Co. From the greeter at the entrance to the budtender helping to guide my selections, down to the employee finalizing the transaction, each one demonstrated a love for their work and took pride in helping customers to the right product – all while providing education about the offerings. My visit included a captivating discussion with a budtender about our preference for sativa-dominant strains, the available varieties and the reasons behind our inclination towards certain cultivars over others. So if you have some canna-questions in need of answers, swinging by and chatting up this staff is a great place to start.

A Vast Variety

With a wide range of products available, it’s highly likely you’ll find something that appeals to you. Whether it’s one of Seaweed Co.’s signature items or a carefully chosen product from vendors like Firefly Organics, Gele, Jar Co. or Stoner & Co., the selection is definitely diverse. For those interested in non-THC products, Seaweed Co. provides top-quality CBD items crafted in Maine, such as bath soak satchels, facial serums, edibles and even a CBD autoflower home-grow kit. Additionally, if you’re looking for a new pipe, rolling tray or any other smoking accessory, their variety of products should have your next sesh firing on all cylinders.

Sea You There

Reflecting on my visit to Seaweed Co., I vividly recall the smile that graced my face as I left the building. The experience here was unique compared to other dispensaries; it felt like entering a quaint seaside shop, only this one sold Cannabis. It embodies a comfortable environment where guests are welcomed to relax in the sitting area or leisurely peruse the shop’s offerings. However, what truly stood out to me was their commitment to educating customers. The flower case displayed strains organized by the dominant terpene – a detail I had never encountered before and one that resonated with me, as terpenes significantly influence my Cannabis selection.
