Having recently opened on May 18, the newest Verilife location in Maryland is a sight to behold. This store is much more than meets the eye from the outside. I was blown away by the size and layout of the sales floor from the second I stepped through the doors. A big open space allows budtenders and patients/customers to interact and walk through the different products on the menu. They are trying to foster relationships with their customers that make them feel good about their purchases and where they are making them. General manager James Copek helps to cultivate an environment of inclusivity and comfortability, so stop by Verilife the next time you are in Silver Spring.
Setting and Vibe
Vibes-wise, this store reminded me of dispensaries on the West Coast with its impressive layout and dedicated employees. As I was browsing through the menu, several employees asked me if I had tried specific products and got me hyped about things I should try. They have kiosks available for people who want to use them, but the budtenders strongly encourage the creation of a relationship between them and their customers. They truly want to help people find a product that works for them as opposed to selling whatever is on sale or needs to be moved.
Flower
With over 68 strains available during my visit, I was very impressed with the inventory this store has built in the little time it has been open. Eighths, half-ounces, and even full-ounces can be bought in single containers. If you are a fan of flower from matter. and LivWell, then this store has the selection for you, in addition to a ton of other brands from all over the state. They also have a huge selection of both traditional and infused pre-rolls.
Concentrates
Can we get a whoop-whoop for adult-use customers being able to purchase concentrates now? Finally Maryland has come to its senses and is allowing 21+ customers to purchase loose concentrates and infused pre-rolls — something that has been long overdue. This is a great store to stock up on your first haul with brands like #HASH, Nature’s Heritage and SunMed Labs on the menu.
Edibles
Every fruit under the sun can be found as a gummy flavor at Verilife, with a ton of options from Betty’s Edies and Bubby’s Baked Goods. They also featured dark chocolate from Dixie and several varieties of Curio Wellness’ famous chews. I was really excited to see the winner of the 2024 Maryland Leaf Bowl gummy category on the menu: Do Drops “Pride” Starfruit Chews.

Before I even had time to look up the cross on this strain, I could tell there was some Mimosa in the mix as soon as I smelled it. It was nice to confirm my belief as this strain is Banana OG x Mimosa V6, which creates a strong citrusy aroma with hints of sweet banana to balance it out. I rolled up a joint and went for a walk, feeling a powerful uptick in my energy and mental clarity after just a few puffs. This makes Rated-R a perfect daytime strain for getting things done with a comfortable feeling throughout my body.
