Terp alert! Terp alert!
Cannabis gardeners, big and small, prep for monster sets at Terpnami 2026 on Dec. 5 and 6, Saturday and Sunday, in Berkeley.
The third-annual seed rave, which I’m organizing, features 30 of the world’s top breeders and an expected 1,000 growers over two days in the Bay Area. It’s the world’s first boutique breeder-focused Cannabis genetics conference, timed to the start of winter when full-sun seeds are packaged and folks plan their 2027 gardens.

If “niche” now means “cool,” Terpnami approaches absolute zero. The genetics side of the $60-billion global Cannabis trade is a very small world, and a good chunk of it confers in a private venue for the weekend. Single-day tickets are $10, with $100 VIP packages offering admission both days plus a gift box.
Rebel Grown Seeds owner Dan Pomerantz has been working on fresh batches of his classic Double OG Chem and Sour lines — among the most winning in Emerald Cup history. His Peak OG medaled three times in the 2026 California State Fair Cannabis Awards, and he has fingerprints on other trophies.

“These plants are just beasts. They’re monsters,” he said.
Maine Trees is out from the East Coast with fresh work from the Blue Lobster line, plus their 2026 hit BBL2. BBL2 has won hardware from The Billy Awards, the Arizona Culture Cup and Seattle Terp Warz this year. Snowy Maine has hot tree and is fully in dialogue with the West Coast scene.
Higher Ground Canna will also attend with extremely hype new 2.0 versions of the smash candy hasher, Starburst 36, as well as a revamped KC 36 crossed to Z, dubbed KCZ.

“I think it’s going to make some major noise,” said Higher Ground Canna owner John Oliver.
We’ll also see new work from Biovortex, Umami Seed Company and Tangled Roots representing Huckleberry Hill Farms and Ridgeline Farms, as well as Ziplock Seeds from Oregon and many more. The lineup is stacked.
“You’ve brought all the cool people together,” said Pomerantz. “It’s really awesome.”

Why a seed rave? A friend said the name sounded like a rave, so we leaned into the trope. A light show, EDM DJs, the air of mystery and a retro, sci-fi, anime aesthetic make for a singularly fun celebration.
The Bay Area is also mild in December, with world-class hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants, elite shopping, gorgeous hikes and charming neighborhoods.
Maine Trees CEO and co-founder Owen Ruh said he’s looking forward to the food, especially.

“Chez Panisse is one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay — that’s high on my list when me and the team get out there,” Ruh said.
So ditch the doomscroll and touch grass. Plant a seed and envision a better tomorrow. Exercise our rare freedom to associate and to cultivate. See you in the lineup at Terpnami.
