Hop in for an adventure and taste the toad as we hit the euphoric and trippy Toad Venom strain grown by Tilted Cannabis and bred by West Coast Connoisseurs and Ronin Seeds.
Toads are unique as far as animals are concerned, with over 600 species of true toads among the nearly 7,900 types of amphibians living between water and land. Some are poisonous, some give you warts and others ooze dimethyltryptamine from their skin. Of the three to lick, we’d pick the trippy one, which is why we shot this beautiful bud on a fitting toad-themed jacket from Grassroots California.
Grown indoors by Tilted, whose pesticide-free- and Department-of-Health-certified, medical-grade flower has been in bloom since 2016, these frosty Toad Venom buds delight the senses and fill a room with funk that is louder than a swamp at night.
Deep green and immaculately frosty, these nugs glisten with fully developed trichomes and assault the senses with an all-out hit of thick, swampy gas, fermented sour berries and a pleasantly rotten citrus, marker and rubbery-rose finish that oozes from the sticky buds. The first hits deliver a sensational sour smack that’s smooth and immediately stoney, melting our faces into a puddle resembling a frog on a toadstool, which is to say, very happily sedated.
After several bowls, we found our minds floating and our muscles relaxed — our cotton-mouth-fueled request for root beer might have even sounded a little like a ribbit, showing that Toad Venom is a powerful plant medicine indeed.
