First opened in October 2010 in Salem, Club Pitbull started as a medical dispensary with a goal of bridging the gap between Cannabis growers and patients in need of herbal medicine.
“The shop has been around for a long time. We’ve seen multiple eras of Cannabis,” Marty Berry, general manager of the store, explained.

The location has changed ownership several times, but over the last 15 years, Club Pitbull has consistently held space as a haven for the Cannabis community. Seen as a big dog in the Salem retail scene, the business has persisted through the ups and downs over the years, thanks to its emphasis on providing care.
“We are all about customer service,” Berry noted. “Other stores carry similar products, but what sets us apart is the experience you get as a customer.”

Budtenders are the main entry point for consumers accessing the world of Cannabis retail, and as such, Club Pitbull puts a large emphasis on budtender training and education.
“Our staff is knowledgeable. If a customer wants to ask about flavonoids, terpenes or the difference between CBG, CBD, THCV, we can handle all that. We want people to feel satisfied and be happy with what they got,” Berry stated.

Featuring a range of various products — from budget brands to high-grade connoisseur options — Club Pitbull has a little something for everybody. Brave Hearts, Farmer’s Friend Extracts and Flyte Co represent some of the more popular brands in the store, but the sheer quantity and overall selection of choices is doggone impressive.
“We are becoming known as a rosin shop more recently, too,” Berry pointed out. “So, there are a lot of concentrate companies that we’ve been building relationships with.”

The dedication to care doesn’t just stop at customer service or product versatility. Around the holidays, Club Pitbull hosts food drives and charitable donations for those in need. At the start of the academic school year, the shop also hosts a backpack and school supply collection that goes directly to local youth. This organization intentionally builds a public service model into its operations. It’s a way to give back to the community that has supported it over the years.
With unerring compassion and commitment to Cannabis as medicine, Club Pitbull is raising the roof on what it means to help both recreational and medical Cannabis consumers in Oregon. Now that’s what we call a paws-itive impact.
