Glass Spotlight: BK Glassware

"Watching my dad blow glass over the years allowed me to learn visually."

For Ben Kendall, also known as BK Glassware, blowing glass is a family affair. Growing up in a rural area of Southern Oregon known to the locals as Takilma, Ben is a second-generation glass artist and Cannabis cultivator. His father migrated to Oregon in the ‘70s after finishing his schooling at Goddard College with a focus on glass blowing. Fast forward 20 years of hot shop experience, he established his business: Kendall Art Glass.

BK and his older brother first got involved in the glass studio around the age of 10, making nightlights their dad would market on the wholesale circuit. “Working with glass as a child gave me a unique experience with this medium. Watching my dad blow glass over the years allowed me to learn visually,” said Kendall.

As he continued refining his technique with soft glass in high school and college, he began marketing his products under the brand BK Glassware – attending craft fairs and pop-ups such as Eugene Saturday Market and the Oregon Country Fair.

BK specializes in tumbler and goblet cups in many sizes with just about every color in the rainbow! Their smooth and clean feel blends seamlessly with common kitchen aesthetics.

Another fun fact about Ben is that he owns and operates his own hash brand, Zap Solventless. Made with love and processed with care, Zap Solventless pheno hunts tons of legendary breeder’s genetics like Oregon’s local Kush Kirk and Washington’s Archive Seed Bank.

“Glass and Cannabis go hand in hand, and that’s no different for my family,” said Kendall.
