In a landscape where legacy Humboldt farms keep getting the short end of the stick, Ridgeline Farms keeps making the right moves to stay in the fight.
Owned and operated by Jason Gellman, Ridgeline has built its name on top-tier genetics, skilled farmcraft and savvy branding. It doesn’t hurt that Gellman is the type of dude that other farmers look up to. If there’s magic to be had, he has it – the perfect fit for our annual Culture Issue.
Gellman has been shifting his focus recently to invest heavily in breeding projects, using his years on the farm as a foundation to create new winners. That’s where the Lantz comes in.
A cross between two strains that Ridgeline absolutely crushes – Green Lantern x Ridgeline Runtz – the Lantz takes the best of both cultivars and combines them into something new and delicious. Kolas stacked with dark purple and shocks of frosted dark green give off candy-sweet fruit and dessert pastry notes with an undertone of pine and savory earth. It’s good enough to make you want to pop a nug in your mouth and chew on it.
Definitely don’t do that though, as those same flavors all shine on combustion – with the savory notes swelling at the end of a draw, kicking the salivary glands into overdrive. It’s good enough to have caught the attention of Gellman’s friend and frequent collaborator Berner, who features the strain as a staple on his Cookies menu. Good luck finding someone who’s smoked it that doesn’t sing its praises … if such smokers exist, we certainly haven’t met them.
Keep your eye out for the Ridgeline Lantz, and pick up some of the farm’s other heaters while you’re at it. You won’t regret it.
