Founded in 2011, Dockside Cannabis isn’t just a place to buy weed — it’s where canna-curiosity meets expertise. This woman- and minority-owned retailer is committed to safe access and inclusivity. In each of the four locations across the Seattle area, they enhance the Cannabis shopping experience by emphasizing and celebrating the plant’s positive effects on community connection, mental health and physical well-being. As Washington’s longest-running, medically endorsed Cannabis retailer in Washington, Dockside leads the way in quality and care.

Walking into their SODO location, I was struck by the warm, inviting vibe. The space welcomes visitors with great lighting and a positive atmosphere designed for easy browsing with neatly organized displays and thoughtfully curated product selection. Oh, and I can’t forget Bronx — this puptender’s smile and soft fur will melt your heart. But what really stands out? The people. Every team member greets you with a smile and is ready to listen — like, really listen — to what you’re looking for. Whether you’re a total newbie or a seasoned stoner, you’ll be treated with respect and given personalized recommendations that fit the type of experience you’re after.
“We pride ourselves in a service style that speaks to that,” Senior Marketing Manager Katie Roux said. “Each person has a different flavor or vibe they’re after, and it’s up to us to help them figure that out. It’s a personal journey, and that’s where we come in — what drove the founders to start this business in the first place.”

Washington State Medical Marijuana patients can book an appointment on Dockside’s website to sit down with one their DOH-Certified Medical Cannabis Consultants. They walk through their products to find solutions for specific needs. Plus, patients with a WA Medical Cannabis Card get to skip the tax on any of their many DOH-compliant products — saving almost half the cost.
“Buying Cannabis can feel really intimidating, and whether you’re using it recreationally or medically, we’re here to help you feel more comfortable,” Roux said. “There are so many different types of products, but it doesn’t need to feel overwhelming. You don’t need to know anything about it before you walk in. There’s no judgment.”

Dockside offers a range of accessories. From papers and pipes to high-end devices like Puffco, there’s something for everyone at any price point. And for a dose of history, check out their Cannabis Museum — a unique and educational addition to your visit, right inside the store. Whether you stop by SODO or any of their other locations, you’re in for an experience that’s hard to beat.
“At the end of the day, we want you to have a good time,” Roux said. “We’re one of the only shops that has a customer satisfaction exchange policy, and we have a top-shelf Rewards Club that gives members access to tons of discounts. People really appreciate those extra perks.”
