There’s only one place in all of Oregon where shoppers can buy both a monstera plant and a monstrously large bag of weed at the same time: Somewhere. No, not just anywhere — Somewhere.
Founded in 2020 by friends Oliver Garnier, Luke Rogers and Ethan Tucker, Somewhere is a Portland-based retailer that is part dispensary and part exotic plant store. With experience in propagation of native flora and landscape design, Rogers and Garnier joined forces with Tucker, whose history in the Cannabis industry and overall organization helped the team launch the business in the height of the pandemic lockdowns. Flash-forward to 2025, Garnier is now the sole proprietor and operator of the enterprise, and Somewhere has steadily grown to become a Nob Hill neighborhood staple.

The establishment itself is spacious and warm, featuring handmade wooden displays and heirloom artwork from the founder’s families. There’s a tangible intentionality put into curating an environment with minimal signage or branding. Add in a low-pressure, customer-driven shopping experience, and the dispensary makes for a remarkably welcoming and cozy space.
“Going into dispensaries, I just felt overwhelmed, like oh my God, there’s all these screens and all this stuff, then you’re partnered with a budtender where you feel rushed to make a decision. We wanted the experience here to feel self-guided and comfortable,” Garnier explained.

Flower is the central pillar for the dispensary, but they also carry plenty of concentrates, vape cartridges, edibles and more. Some of the company’s most popular brands include Phoenix Rising Farm, Tao Gardens, Ananda Farms and NW Soil Tech. Of note, their most popular brand of preroll is actually a Moroccan hash-infused joint made by Casbah, which is, in effect, a raw cone packed with both flower and hashish. According to Alex Scattarella, the store manager, the product is so good that it “ruins regular prerolls” for customers. That’s apparently the risk of Rocking the Casbah, though.
The houseplant side of the business has a rotating inventory that changes based on factors like season and availability. Somewhere puts deliberate effort into sourcing different flora than someone might find at their local New Seasons, and as a result, many of their offerings end up being off the beaten path, so to speak, and may only be available in limited amounts or at infrequent times.

“My hope is that through fostering a relationship between a person and a plant, you start to build a sense of connection and respect. So when they step out into the world next, maybe they notice plants a little more or have a little more awareness of the nature around us,” Garnier explained.
The intentionality and mindfulness in each step of the operation are perceptible. From the curation of the dispensary space to the prioritization of a clean, well-grown product selection to the integration of living plant life within a human enterprise, every piece of the encounter feels consciously geared toward providing a relaxed and humanistic shopping experience. For the overall wellness of consumers and the Oregon Cannabis industry, it’s important for independent, individualistic businesses like Somewhere to continue blazing new trails.

So the next time you’re wondering where in the world you can get both a pink princess philodendron and some Blue Dream flower, the only place to set the GPS to is Somewhere.
