Why is budtending the best job in the world?
I think it’s just about getting to meet new, cool people and make a lot of friends. Pretty much everything I do in my personal life is an extension from working in the Cannabis industry. And the best part is that I get to hang out all day and try great weed and make important connections.
If you could change anything to improve budtending, what would you write on your comment card?
I would change the law to a deli-style interaction with the customers. I think it’s important for them to open the jar and smell the weed, and that’s something we’re prevented from doing in Washington. Sometimes the flower looks beautiful in the jar, but you open it and there is no nose, and it crumbles when you pinch it. It would be great if we could just have a sampler jar of each strain to show the customer so they can have a little sniff.
What have you been sniffing lately?
I’m into Foemina right now. They’ve got some high-quality sativas, and they’re always turning out great strains.
What other necessary change would you like to see in the near future in regulations?
It would be great to see some change for edible regulations. People’s tolerances are way over the 10-milligrams-per-piece thing, so you have to eat a bunch of them to get the desired effect.
If you could be a member of any musical act in the world, which would it be?
Oh man, that’s a curveball. So, I’m going to throw you a curveball. It would have to be King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard because those crazy Aussies are always playing crazy shows and they’ve got a really nutty fanbase.
Well, your chances are good. There are like 20 members of that band, so can’t you just slide onto the tour bus and grab a tambourine?
Twelve guys, 20 albums, they’ll never know I’m there. I’ve got a lot of friends who are Gizzheads, so now I’m a Gizzhead.
