Budtender of the Month: Vivi Camacho

"I’m a southern California girl but wanted to continue my journey up here.”

This Army vet has been getting into Muay Thai boxing with her husband, who fights Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Outside of the Cannabiz, she loves being her own boss when running a successful, independent business as a loan signing agent. Follow her on Instagram (@smokeonev).

Are you from the Northwest?
I’m from California and moved to Washington in 2018. I was in the medical biz down there and transitioned into the recreational market in 2016. I’m a southern California girl but wanted to continue my journey up here.

A lot of people move from Washington to get closer to the sun, but you did it the other way. Why?
Washington was a new state to grow in with more opportunity, and I wanted to grow in the green state. I love it here. The marathon continues.

You’ve got the best of both worlds with Oregon being right over the border. Is it the tale of two cities for you?
Yeah, Portland is six miles away so it’s really awesome to roll over there and try some of their rosin, which is fire. And then I really enjoy Washington weed, so I get the best of both worlds.

What are you smoking right now?
SKöRD. Good stuff.

When you smoke SKöRD, do you feel like you “scored”?
Absolutely winning! Their flower has yet to fail me, it’s one of the best ever. Every strain I’ve tried has worked for me. They came into the shop about a month ago, which was one of our greatest accomplishments here.

If you had a Cannabis brand, what would you name it?
Smoke One. (giggles)

About Mike Ricker

The first time Ricker smoked weed was at a Santana concert at the age of 12. He then followed in his footsteps as an award-winning radio personality who became notorious for offering a stage for bong toking listeners in 9 different markets over 20 years. In 2016, the Cannabis industry came calling and the rest is history.
