You’ll usually find Salish Coast Cannabis budtender, Anne Robinson, at the beach with her sister firing up a Legit Joint (her fave) when not behind the counter. In fact, rockhounding for agates and other beautiful stones has been a regular practice since growing up in Anchorage. And speaking of hounds, her pet chihuahua PD (short for Puppy Dog) is her pride and joy.
How does PD inspire you to be a great budtender?
He is just the sweetest little 13-year-old angel. He gets me up every morning to let me know it’s time to go outside for some fresh air, then he helps me get ready for work. And then when I get home from work, he’s waiting at the door next to the sign that says BEWARE OF DOG. And he makes a funny noise when I walk through the door that sounds like a dolphin!
Classic. Have you ever allowed him to enjoy the benefits of any pet CBD products?
Yeah, he likes the Fairwinds CBD Companion Bacon Tincture. In the winter his hips bug him on the colder days and I’ll give him some of that, and he goes over to his favorite blanket and sleeps really well.
The shop is on the property of a casino. Do you ever get people in there who are really bummed out because they weren’t as lucky as they’d hoped on the slots?
Definitely – they’ve only got three bucks left and I’ll fix them up with a joint to get home and get happy, and hopefully turn their life around.
Do you feel like people who gamble are geared more towards drinking and stoners mostly go in for the bells and lights?
Well, it’s kind of like the adult version of Chuck E. Cheese’s – everyone can have a good time. I like to hit my vapey, that’s the secret to really winning. Maybe get some good fries while you’re in there, too.
Totally. In the end, it’s better when you haven’t dropped a couple of hundred bucks, but you still enjoyed yourself, right?
Yeah, the way to do it is to drop a couple of hundred bucks in the weed store before you go over there. That way you get the best of both worlds.
