This house took two decades to build. It all began when some elementary school buddies, many of whom grew up on the same block, combined their resources and invested in their dream to create a proud, world-class company driven by their Mexican American family values. Everyone was down for the cause – brothers, parents, neighbors – and collectively they shared in defining what a Los Angeles brand could achieve: prominence in a burgeoning industry that improves lives.

Bigger Purpose

In 2008, the 10 friends who founded this ambitious vertical operation – which plays home to multiple grows and numerous brands – got a medical license and hit the ground running. So, when legalization took hold in California, they were in a rare place to claim the audacious name that only one can: Originals. But success hasn’t spoiled this team … rather, the family dynamic has grown stronger as their kids continue to grow up together, making holidays and weddings a place for all to convene and celebrate success. And this is far from the end of the road, with expansion into Massachusetts and beyond in the works. In fact, they’ve turned down numerous offers to sell the biz because they see the future: global expansion.

When the OGs want fire, they know where to go. And the reason is simple: When you’re attaching a celebrity name to a brand, it can’t be mids – or it’s flat out gonna fail (as we’ve all seen over the past five years). So, Mike Tyson came calling with his Tyson Ranch line, followed by Xzibit’s first roll-out of Napalm. For 10 years they’ve grown the Marathon OG for Nipsey Hussle (Rest in Peace, Brother), and now Chris Brown’s Bussin’ is officially launched – all Original’s grown.
