Shop Review: Chesapeake Apothecary

Cannabinoid variations on top of cannabinoid variations are stacking this edible menu to the sky.

Chesapeake Apothecary in Clinton is more than meets the eye, feeling like you walked into a vintage speakeasy as soon as you step inside. From the outside, this looks like an ordinary medical building – but from the waiting room to the dispensary floor you’ll find artistic leather and plush couches, motif walls and entryways, a bronze bathtub, and even record players. It’s a magical place that’s over the top in all the best ways, and an experience patients and adult-use customers will never forget.

Setting and Vibe

Classy vintage vibes are emanating from the walls of this dispensary, truly blowing me away as I stepped inside. Lots of dark bronze tones line the walls and floors, along with a comfortable feeling in the air. The staff at this location is beyond chill, while remaining every bit as knowledgeable about Cannabis as you want your budtenders to be. This feels like one of those shops that if we were allowed to, we would hang out and smoke after grabbing some bud.

Flower

Diverse flower offerings are the name of the game here, with everything from the hottest new Z terps on the market to our classics like Pie Crust from Grow West. The selection of Grow West flower in general here was large, with over 10 strains from them available during my visit. Big nugs, PRJs, and even pre-ground flower can be found on the menu here for the blunt and joint rollers.

Edibles

Cannabinoid variations on top of cannabinoid variations are stacking this edible menu to the sky. Whether you’re looking for CBD or CBN-rich edibles, straight-up CBD edibles that Wyld has available, or high-THC couchlockers – there is a little something for everyone at this store. Lillybear freeze-dried Astro Bites are a new favorite of the Maryland market, and the neapolitan is my go-to for the flavor variety.

Concentrates

Alchemist has been putting out that heat lately and this menu is stacked with a ton of different options from the solventless and hydrocarbon product lines. We’re talking bubble hash, temple ball hash, Moroccan hash, live rosin, diamonds and sauce, cured resin badder, as well as live resin crumble, applesauce and badder – making this a truly wonderful place to grab concentrates. There is nothing quite like being spoiled for choice, and the varieties and strains drop this menu into that category.

Product Review

Blue Dream Live Resin Sauce by Alchemist Concentrates
80.97% Total Cannabinoids and 14.984% Total Terpenes

Blue Dream is a true classic in the Cannabis world and Alchemist pays it homage with a bright gold live resin sauce that is absolutely dripping with terpenes. This concentrate includes a QR code which puts the full certificate of analysis right in the hands of the patient. At over 6% terpinolene, this jar put off a pungent floral vibe – giving me confidence in using it throughout the day to curb my anxiety.
