Grow of the Month: Fairwinds / Sunshine Farms

Fairwinds recently acquired its neighbor, Sunshine Farms, in a move that helped it grow to the next level.

Fairwinds has been highly regarded in our Cannabis market as the maker of some of the best and most diverse product lines available in Washington state. Their dedicated focus on patients’ medical needs precedes them. High ratios that favor CBD, CBG and CBN are common here. The product line comprises tinctures, capsules, topicals and inhalers. This is meant to bring bioavailability to more people and concentrate on personal needs. But the fun doesn’t end there; this team was constantly laughing or smiling about something during our visit to the facility. We could see that these people have invested their time and energy all with a common goal in mind.

Our experiences with Fairwinds products over the years have been exemplary, from the efforts put into traditional herbal healing to the quality of the applications they deliver on all fronts. The team here is composed of professionals, and their dedication is obvious throughout the offices and gardens. There is even an education center that was built out just for the purposes of inviting budtenders and buyers for product-knowledge courses and new releases. It’s a very impressive space and shows the level of excellence they aim for here.

CEO Wendy Hull said it best in an interview with the Leaf: “In 2016, we were the first farm to be Department of Health compliant. Not a lot of companies back then wanted to go through the trouble, but our main focus has and always will be on medical patients.” When medical marijuana patients purchase DOH-approved products at medically-endorsed retail stores, they do not have to pay the excise tax, saving them up to 37%.

Recently, Fairwinds acquired its neighbor, Sunshine Farms. This strategic move has helped it grow to the next level. Sunshine’s strains are phenomenal. Their Dutch Treat is one of the truest we’ve enjoyed in a decade. The Blueberry Muffin literally tastes like a fresh bite of the delicious fruit, and GG4 presents that perfect mix of gassiness and pine needles. One of our new favorites, The Last Supper, is an extremely rare pheno that really delivers a mouth-watering flavor while giving your entire body a hug — couch lock, here we come!

So, if you are a legacy stoner and you want your palate to take you on a trip down memory lane, go out and find yourself some Sunshine Farms. If you are a medical patient looking for something specific, or pointing someone who might not be a smoker in the right direction to find relief from the plant’s many medical uses, check out the selection available from Fairwinds. You will be happy you did.
