Shop Review: Green Remedy

There’s an easygoing atmosphere that makes the shop feel approachable for both longtime regulars and new visitors.

When we swung by Green Remedy’s recent 420 celebration, it quickly became clear why this spot has built such a loyal following over the years. With a bumping DJ set, guest saxophonist and patties sizzling on the grill from local favorite Michoacán Burgers, the whole thing felt more like a neighborhood block party than your average dispensary stop.

Tucked into Hilltop Village, Green Remedy was founded by a group of local caregivers back in 2012. That community-first energy still shows up in everything they do, from neighborhood cleanups to a curated lineup of products from social equity vendors. Whether you’re popping in for a quick pickup or pulling up for one of their many customer appreciation events, there’s an easygoing atmosphere that makes the shop feel approachable for both longtime regulars and new visitors.

With a free, spacious parking lot and an open layout, Green Remedy keeps the experience stress-free from the jump. Inside, the staff strikes that perfect balance of passionate without being pushy, making it easy to browse and ask questions instead of feeling rushed through a transaction.

Another thing that stands out is how intentional the team is about accessibility and inclusion. Green Remedy has employees fluent in both Spanish and American Sign Language, helping to create more welcoming Cannabis experiences throughout the Richmond area. And clearly, the community has taken notice. In 2025, Green Remedy was named the Best Cannabis Store in Richmond by BusinessRate, an accolade based entirely on public Google Reviews. You just can’t fake years spent building real relationships and creating a space people genuinely want to come back to.

Green Remedy also has an insider program, which allows regulars to rack up perks, and new patients get a 10% discount on their first haul. Whether you’re there for the products or the people — or just hoping to catch a saxophone solo while grabbing your favorite flower — Green Remedy feels like a rare gem.

Lea Magdangal, a supervisor at the shop, gave us a sneak peek into their next can’t-miss event.

“We’ll be doing a market day, like a mini version of Hall of Flowers, in our parking lot in July,” she told California Leaf. “There will be cool new food vendors that are super popular on Instagram, goodies outside and deals that are a steal for the customers! We can’t wait.”
